Warning 1961

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.

- Jenny Joseph

It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something.Franklin D. Roosevelt

IF
"What if you slept, And what if in your sleep you dreamed,

And what if in your dream you went to heaven

And there you picked a strange and beautiful flower

And what if when you awoke you had the flower in your hand?

Ah, what then?

-Samuel Coleridge

Doing what you love is the cornerstone of having abundance in your life.
Wayne Dyer

THIS QUIET DUST

This quiet Dust was Gentlemen and Ladies
And Lads and Girls -
Was laughter and ability and Sighing
And Frocks and Curls -
This Passive Place a Summer’s nimble Mansion
Where Bloom and Bees
Fulfilled their Oriental Circuit
Then ceased, like these.
- Emily Dickinson.

“It's so curious: one can resist tears and 'behave' very well in the hardest hours of grief. But then someone makes you a friendly sign behind a window, or one notices that a flower that was in bud only yesterday has suddenly blossomed, or a letter slips from a drawer... and everything collapses. ”
Colette

  1. A truly helpful site. Thank you for giving carers an opportunity to respectfuly and discreetly express feelings on sensitive work experiences whether funny, sad or irritable. It truly helps to know there is somewhere you can say something and not be judged that you are being disrespectful or disloyal but just being human. Thrasher.
